SAC is installed at the side of the wagon incoming railway line, and it will haul the loaded wagon and push the wagon to be tippled and the empty unloaded wagon out from the tippler area.
The SAC can be used to haul the loaded wagon train and push one loaded wagon/empty wagon.
The SAC is the traction device with side arm; it is designed to haul the marshaled train with a maximum load of 1000T into the tippler. The SAC travels along the inlet end of the tippler, and the center distance of the travel rail is 1600mm and it takes up transmission by vertical toothed rack.
Caution: The whole train of loaded wagon shall be vented before the SAC hauls the train!
A. Assembly of SAC
The SAC is the traction device with side arm; it is designed to haul the marshaled train with a maximum load of 1000T (10 wagons) into the wheel clamper and one loaded wagon into the tippler. The SAC travels along the inlet end of the tippler, and the center distance of the travel rail is 1600mm and it takes up transmission by vertical toothed rack.
B. Principal body of SAC
SAC is a heavy-duty packaged-type box section structure, and its design shall meet the load and stress required for hauling the loaded track wagons into the oblique surface of the tippler.
It shall fabricate the joints among the wagon body, driving unit and guide wheel. In design, it shall also contain sling with proper size to lift the assembled SAC during installation in workshop and in field.
C. Key arm of SAC
The SAC major arm installed in the rotation axle is lifted and lowered with joint action of hydraulic cylinder and crank link mechanism. At both ends of the SAC major arm, there are wagon hooking device for connecting and hooking the wagon hook, hauling and pushing the wagon. The wagon hook in the SAC major arm is controlled by a small hydraulic cylinder installed in the SAC arm to achieve hydraulically unhooking.
The connecting device and proximity switch are also attached to the end of the connecting device of the arm for detecting whether the connecting device of the SAC can engage and lock or not.
D. Vertical travel actuator of SAC
The SAC is driven by 2 independent vertical travel driving units, every driving unit has an output gear that is machined and engages the toothed rack installed on ground.
Each set of vertical travel driving unit is installed in the SAC body and is fixed to the machined surface with bolts. Its bottom lies in the machined hole of the flange below the SAC body.
Before dismantling the driving module for maintenance purpose, it is unnecessary to remove any gear unit or any other parts.
The driving unit is driven hydraulically.
E. Travel wheel and guide wheel of SAC
The travel wheel is one part of the vertical wheel assembly and installed at each corner of below the SAC body. One unit consists of one spring assembly to assure all of 4 wheels can contact the travel guide track. 4 guide wheels are below the SAC body and contact the guide block of the toothed rack. When the train of wagons in the track is hauled to advance by the SAC, these guide wheels will balance the horizontal force yielded by the SAC arm. The travel wheel and guide wheel consist of anti-friction bearing and sealing device.
F. Rack rail of SAC
Design of SAC toothed rack shall meet driving force and counterforce yielded during hauling the loaded1000T wagons in track.
The track can support the yielded vertical load. All of horizontal transverse load will be balanced with the guide block via the guide wheel, and the component force of tractive force of continuous toothed rack can be balanced. The machined surface of the guide block can contact the SAC guide wheel. The toothed rack is steel casting, and there is machined surface installed in the guide block.
G. Cable bearer, travel limit switch and rack switch of SAC
The power and control lines are connected to the SAC with the cable system hanging above the adjacent track and are parallel to the SAC. The cable is hanged with the cable bearer. Proximity switches is install in the cable track to control the resetting of the stop position. The control system provides a safety interlock signal when SAC is moving. A track-side limit switch protects SAC which it is retuning of movement within the limit.
